Council Flyin

Updated: Sep 14, 2022

The flyin in to Council was a great event for the Idaho 99s. August 13 was a hot, summer Saturday but clear for flying and exploring Council.

Kathy hosted and gave us a tour of the Council airport and its improved amenities. The gas pump card reader is installed and working. The airport has a courtesy SUV and bikes for pilots to use. The airport has weather and webcam-N and S links.

Kathy also gave us a tour of the extensive remodel and additions to her hangar. She will have an office equipped for FAA Flight Physicals.

Another highlight of the day was the tour of Carter Cutlery in Council. An excerpt from the website describes the depth of skill and creativity that goes into hand forged knives: "Carter Cutlery handcrafts high performance cutlery using time-honored, traditional Japanese bladesmithing techniques." Taylor gave us the tour and demonstrated two steps in the hand forging process.

Lunch was at Sprockets Brew House--that we can highly recommend.
