ACE Academy and Idaho 99s 2023

Idaho 99s Women Pilots joined with the Idaho Division of Aeronautics for the ACE Academy for high school students. This year's program was June 21-23, 2023.


Scholarships from the Idaho 99s enabled eight girls to attend. The scholarship support was through a STEM grant made possible from the generosity of the Idaho STEM Action Center,Idaho STEM EcosySTEM and the Boise Branch of the American Association of University Women - AAUW. Through outreach by the Idaho 99s through SheTech, high school career fairs, high school counselors and articles in the Idaho Press, and The Flyline by the Idaho Aviation Association, the ACE Academy class of 2023 was half girls and half boys.


Kathy was invited to speak on aviation medicine and her career with the US Air Force. Jamie spoke about her career as a commercial pilot and led a tour through the Cessna Citation plane she flies.


On Friday, the last day of the camp, volunteer pilots flew the kids for tours around the Treasure Valley. Stacey, Jamie and Sharki took groups of students who all had big smiles.
